Examining the determinants of import demand in Tanzania: An ARDL approach

Objective: This study estimates the determinants of import demand in Tanzania using time-series data for period from 1985 to 2015. Research Design & Methods: The applied ARDL approach on Tanzania’s examine key drivers demand. used both aggregate model (i.e., Model 1) and disaggregated models, i.e., 2 (for consumer goods), 3 intermediate goods) 4 capital this linkage. Findings: found that 1, imports are positively influenced by investment exports, negatively determined trade policy. In 2, it was goods spending foreign reserves, but 3, were be exports long run.
